I would add that some people at the fairs are legit. There are many who honestly have talent. I always enjoyed them, in the past, and i believe that many of these gems still attend.
It's just a matter of discernment, discernment, discernment. I would go with my gut. If something feels fishy, it is! Above all, if anyone tries to recruit you, RUN !!! (to the nearest table that has a Spray Smudge or Florida Water tester, and spray yourself liberally. ;-))
